Another day, another dollar, another drug lord deposed as he got off the boat from Central America. As ops go, this one went about as smoothly as you could ask for: sure, the boat was an hour and a half late, and sure there were some shots fired, but nobody died.

Auggie finally gets off work around nine -- practically early -- and heads down to the locker room to shower the stress away.

And gets the bar, instead.

Well, a beer is almost as good as a shower. He sweeps his laser cane over the floor once to check for waitrats, then heads towards the counter to order a drink.

Auggie disposes of his whiskey on a side table when they get to the bedroom, kicks off his shoes, and climbs onto the bed with his arms open.

Tony likewise gets rid of his shoes, crawls onto the bed, and curls up happily in Auggie's arms.

Cuddles don't actually fix anything, but for a little while they let him be nothing but okay.

Quiet: "How're you doing?"

"I'm good," he says contentedly. "How 'bout you?"

"Better now."

"Awesome."

[seeagreatergood]

Auggie hugs him a little closer for a moment.

He doesn't want to be that guy. He won't be that guy. And it worries him that he could let something that guy-ish slip out.

"Love you," Tony adds, pillowing his head on Auggie's shoulder.

"You, too."

He kisses Tony's forehead.

"Thanks for calling me on being a jerk."

He laughs. "Hey, no problem. Anytime."

"I hope I'm not giving you that many openings."

[toblameforit]

"You don't," Tony assures him. "I'd be telling you about them if you were."

"Good. Thanks."

He leans his cheek on Tony's hair.

"So MIT is a party school, huh?"

"For some people it is," Tony says cheerfully.

"You among them?"

[toblameforit]

"Well, you know, schoolwork comes first. But after schoolwork comes partying."

Auggie laughs. "Good for you."

"For which part?"

[seeagreatergood]

"I should probably say for doing your schoolwork first, but it's college. If you don't party a little, too, you're not getting the full experience."

"Well, I'm definitely getting the full experience, then."

[seeagreatergood]

"Just don't burn out on it."

[toblameforit]

Laughing, he snuggles closer. "I won't, I promise."

"Glad to hear it."

He leans up and kisses Auggie's cheek.

Auggie quirks a smile.

"Am I getting too parental?"
