Saturday, in the park -- the twelfth of May, not the fourth of July. The rest of the week passed with less excitement than the weekend.

When Elizabeth called up and invited Auggie out on an afternoon walk, he was more than happy to accept. It's only natural for them to link arms once they get off Vivi -- she's being his guide, after all.

"Oh, no, let me chip in at least."

Elizabeth pats his arm. "Losing battle, my friend."

"I have to try," he insists. "Virginia?"

"Absolutely not. I insist."

He sighs. "Okay. I tried."

"You did," she agrees, patting his arm again as she steers him to a table. "What do you want to drink?"

"Large cappuccino, classic?"

"Virgo, you heard the man."

"I'll be right back," she assures them.

"Thanks."

He settles in at the table, folding up his cane, and cocks his head in Elizabeth's direction.

"So is this a crazy coincidence or something else?"

"I don't know. What kind of an else are you thinking?"

"Hell if I know. I'm just not a huge believer in coincidence."

"It's not a big surprise that she ended up here; she's a PA and her boss travels a lot, so she ends up all kinds of places. But no, she probably wasn't just strolling through that park for the hell of it."

She sounds proud, a little. Well, she is. Oh, Virgo.

"And you want to hire me for espionage? Sounds like you've already got a perfectly capable spy-type in your life."

"What part of 'she's a PA' didn't you understand? Being a little bit psychic is in her job description."

"I've never had nor been a PA, what do I know about what they do?"

"Well, I've been a PA's best friend for years, and what they do seems to be what nobody else thinks of."

"Yikes. Tough job."

"Yep. It's why she likes getting the coffee. Three coffee orders is refreshingly simple, apparently."

He laughs.

"Got it. Still seems like kind of a busman's holiday, though."

"Some people are just stubborn, I guess."

"Your coffee, you incorrigible gossip," says Virginia from just over James's shoulder.
