So things got awkward and Auggie moved his stuff back out of the Stark household into Milliways.

And he's been totally fine with it. Honestly. It's been kind of a relief not to have to keep such a close eye on himself the last three or four days. Milliways is kind of anxiety-inducing, but less anxiety inducing than living in a house with those two young men.

Of course, he misses the easy camaraderie. But it's not like this is the first time he valued safety over friendship.

"You guys." A deep breath. "Me, my head. My career. Your future."

"I cannot help with your career. I don't know if I can help with your head. I can tell you that I will not let you break me."

Another breath.

"That's good."

"Ditto me," Tony adds.

"And if we can help with you, we will."

"Thanks."

He has his doubts that anyone will be much help for his head, but it's a nice sentiment.

"We've got lots of practice helping with each other."

He snorts. "Yeah?"

"Yep."

[seeagreatergood]

"Good."

He leans back, rubbing a hand over his face.

"I guess that leaves us at me still being the most freaked out person in the room, though, so for all practical purposes we might be back where we started."

"Is there anything we can do, right now, to help you feel more comfortable?"

"No, I think we covered the bases."

[if_inconvenient]

"In that case, I believe I will come over there and hug you."

He half-smiles.

"Knock yourself out."

He rolls off Tony's couch, crosses over to Auggie's, sits down next to him, and snuggles up.

However much it may or may not be doing for Auggie's comfort levels, it seems to be just the thing for Sherlock.

Auggie very carefully puts an arm around him.

(His heart is pounding a little faster than normal.)

Sherlock leans his head on Auggie's shoulder, completely relaxed.

(Also completely adorable. Both of them.)

"Hey," he says, unusually tentative.

Softly: "Hello."

[seeagreatergood]

"Are we okay?"

[if_inconvenient]

"Yes."

[seeagreatergood]

"Okay. Good."

[if_inconvenient]

"Yes," he repeats, giving Auggie's shoulder a gentle squeeze.
